Redemption: a REDD+ story from India
This film is produced under the Framework Agreement between the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), India. It provides an insight on how the change- from indiscriminate cutting of trees for fuel wood use and other purposes by the locals of Sonbhadra region of Uttar Pradesh, India to conservation of the same resource can result into generating REDD+ benefits for them along with enhancing the green cover of the region. Their conscious efforts have resulted into protection of both, the environment and their own livelihood. The movie has also explained the possible benefits which a population can reap by vividly explaining the REDD+ mechanism by the conservation of forests.
