MP to provide 135 ltr water per person per day by 2016
Madhya Pradesh Minister for Urban Administration, Shri Kailash Vijayavargiya, has said that the state will provide 135 litres of water per person under the Chief Minister's Nal Jal Yojana. The BJP had made this promise in its manifesto for the urban civic elections.
Shri Vijayavargiya said: "The government has allocated Rs 4,416 crore for the project so within two years the target can be realised. Assistance has also been sought from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for achievement of the scheme." This scheme is part of the goverment's efforts to improve the overall urban development scenario in the state. Some of these include doubling revenues for urban civic bodies, light metro rail for Bhopal and Indore, cheap housing facilities for migrants and a 'clean green Singhast 2016'.
